    Follow up work:

    Download the LQ framework from here: nationalfirechiefs.org.uk

      1. Choose one behaviour from each of the 4 LQs.
      2. Write/ copy these 4 statements onto a document.
      3. At the end of each day, review what you have done and write down how you feel you have met that LQ behaviour; also write down anything you feel you might have improved. Do this for each of the 4 LQs behaviours you chose.
      4. Do this for a week. In the second week, choose 4 more behaviours, one from each LQ, and repeat the exercise. This will help you a) become more familiar with what the LQs framework is looking for and b) review your own behaviour against these criteria.

     
    Example (Crew and Watch level)
    LQ- Personal Impact
    Behaviour: I take responsibility for inclusion, and encourage different points of view.
    Review of my performance day 1: Asked XXXX what she thought of the planned change to Safe & Well visit logs.
    Any improvements: I could have opened this out to a discussion including the rest of the crew
     
    Example (Station and Group Level)
    LQ- Personal Impact
    Behaviour: I role model and mentor others in how they communicate and engage to encourage inclusion.
    Review of my performance day 1: I highlighted the need for better engagement with 14-18 year old cadets and outlined what I needed to see done better
    Any improvements: Asking the team for their ideas on how to build better engagement with this group.
     
    Example (Strategic level)
    LQ- Personal Impact
    Behaviour: I promote and role model inclusion.
    Review of my performance day 1: Proposed a strategy for improving communication links with the elderly across the community to be implemented across all stations.
    Any improvements: Further consideration of how to gain input from target groups themselves, encouraging feedback from stations.
